2027 UCR registration: fees, deadline and how Florida carriers file

3 min readUpdated November 6, 2026

UCR (Unified Carrier Registration) is a yearly registration for carriers that operate across state lines. The 2027 year is open now, and Florida-based carriers have one extra wrinkle: Florida doesn't take part in UCR.

2027 is open now

Registration for 2027 opened October 1, 2026. File before December 31 so you're covered when the new year starts on January 1.

What it costs

The fee depends on how many vehicles you operate. You pay it directly to UCR:

  • 0–2 vehicles: $55
  • 3–5 vehicles: $167
  • 6–20 vehicles: $333
  • That's about 20% higher than 2026.

Florida carriers register through another state

Florida does not participate in UCR. Florida-based carriers register through a participating base state, such as Oklahoma. It sounds odd, but it's normal, and you still register through the official UCR system.

Watch for look-alike notices

Official-looking UCR letters and emails demanding payment are common, and many come from private companies. Before you pay anyone, send us a photo and we'll tell you what it is, free.

File it yourself or hand it off

You can file UCR yourself. If you'd rather not, we file it for $49 (or $29 for Desk members), plus the UCR fee you pay directly.

Quick answers

Rather hand it off? We publish our prices, and we'll always tell you when a filing is free to do yourself.
